There are many different types of insulation available on the market today. Here at CHI we believe the higher the quality the better. We offer only the best in home insulation products. Here is some information on the types available. Rest assured our knowledgeable staff are equipt to help you make the best decision.
2 Lbs. Spray Foam
2 lb. medium-density foam is a spray-applied insulation and air barrier that has the following benifits:
Reduces your energy bills up to 50%
Stops frost, moisture and mold from forming.
Last for the life time of your house.
Pays for it self and generates savings in energy costs.
Prevents dust from entering in your house.
Provides your home with the highest R Value on the market today
Makes your home safer, healthier and more comfortable.
2 lb. Ener-Spray foam acts as a vapour barrier, insulation and air barrier all in one. 2 lb. foam has a similar application process to that of ½ lb. foam it adheres directly to the substrate forming a seamless and permanent coverage over and around even the most difficult shapes. However, it only expands to 40 times its liquid volume it seals cracks and joints, and around protrusions such as brick ties it forms a continuous insulating air barrier that remains for the life of the building. With one of the highest R-values per inch of any insulating material available, 2 lb. Ener-Spray foam helps reduce energy costs while improving building comfort as well as indoor air quality and comfort. Dust and other exterior pollutants cannot enter the building because of the continuous air tight seal.
2 lb. foam is also a green product with a unique formula that contains no ozone-depleting chemicals, such as CFCs, HCFCs, or fibres, formaldehyde and asbestos. No toxins are emitted during preparation and installation and since it never decomposes or deteriorates, there are no concerns about harmful fibres or gases escaping into the air in the future. 2 lb. Ener-Spray foam also adds structural strength, and increases shear and racking strength by 300% to a building
Blown Fibre Insulation
In certain applications, blown-in insulation makes for a cost-effective alternative to spray foam. Loose-fill blown fiberglass insulation is made from virgin fiberglass meaning there are absolutely no chemicals or additives applied to it â simply itâs pure glass. It is installed by pneumatically injecting it into wall cavities, attics and crawl spaces until it reaches a specified density to achieve a specific R-Value rating. Among the many benefits of blown in fiberglass insulation is its ability to resist moisture, mold and combustion while maintaining density without the long-term effects of settling found in other forms of insulation. While blown in fiberglass can be installed in existing and new-construction buildings alike, its ability to be installed in an existing home with minimal structural altercation make it an excellent choice.
Contains no formaldehydes
Resist the settling and gapping typically found in cellulose insulation.
Seamless installation, no gaps or voids
Free from harsh chemicals because it's made from pure glass.
Flammability testing shows blow-in fiberglass resists combustion.
Will not rot, mildew or promote the growth of mold.
Has a superior noise reduction quality.
Installs easily in existing structures.
Monokote Z3306 Fire coating
While specific requirements differ from locality to locality, the use of nominal 0.5 pcf SPF for most building occupancies is permitted only when they are protected by an approved thermal barrier. Z-3306/G has been successfully fire-tested for performance, reliability, ease of application and low in-place cost.
Proven fire test performance:
Z-3306 has successfully passed the International Building Code requirements for code compliant use as a thermal barrier over
nominal 0.5 pcf urethane foam plastics.
EconomicalâHigh application rate makes Z-3306/G the low cost way to protect foam plastics. The use of Monokote adds more savings by maximizeing yield and set charcteristics reducing labor and time to complete the project
Damage resistantâZ-3306/G dries to a hard, durable surface which resists damage.
